ESRI and the Young Cartographers of Bulgaria

ESRI Bulgaria supported a contest for children`s maps, whose winners will represent us at International Forum in Brazil.

Sofia, 27th of February 2015 – For another consecutive year, ESRI Bulgaria supported the contest for children’s maps on topic “My place in the modern world.” The contest is international and its official organizer for Bulgaria is the Bulgarian Cartographic Association with a jury, composed of representatives of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Sofia University, and others.

Winners

More than 200 children from all over the country aged between 3 and 15 years participated in the 9th edition of the contest. The winners in the various categories were announced at an official exhibition, which took place on 27th of February at the University of Architecture, Civil engineering and Geodesy.

1st place

The Grand Prize this year went to Desislava Dimitrova Tsvetanova (12 years old) from the city of Lovech for her map “The Magic of Bulgarian Folklore”, which will represent us along with 5 more maps at the international contest later this year in Brazil.
