Esri – 2022 Climate Change Technology Leader

The Esri GIS platform received an extremely high rating in Forrester’s Climate Risk Analysis report.

Organizations of all sizes and with diverse activities are increasingly using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to better understand climate change risks and model scenarios to be adaptive. By using GIS to map risks and vulnerabilities, for analysis and assessment, leaders can assess the effects of planned actions, mitigate the damage caused by climate change on the assets they manage, and make sustainable decisions despite the unpredictability of nature.

Esri is at the forefront of the technology sector because the ArcGIS platform is preferred by many Fortune 500 companies as a bridge between climate data organizations (such as NASA, NCAR, NOAA, and many others) and businesses.

In the report, compiled by principal analyst Rene Murphy, Esri’s platform received the highest possible score on nine out of ten criteria, including “Advanced Data Processing”, “Visualization”, and “Threat Modeling.” The analyst’s conclusion is that Esri GIS solutions “lead the way in data visualization and offer the most advanced data processing capabilities.”

“We think Forrester’s recognition demonstrates Esri’s longstanding commitment in support of our users protecting the environment while building resilient organizations,” said Jack Dangermond, Esri founder and president. “As the effects of climate change accelerate and intensify, it is more important than ever for leaders to take a geographic approach to this fundamentally global issue. It is part of our mission to contribute to their ability to meet the challenges of sustainability with the best technological resources.”
